ARTIST BIO:
MATT GLISTA

After hearing Pink Floyd’s “Wish You Were Here” for the first time back in 8th grade (2003), I began teaching myself to play guitar. I resurrected my dad’s cumbersome 12-string acoustic from a dusty closet and put my fingers to work.

Since then I’ve written and recorded over 100 songs between my solo project ‘Mista Glista’, my band The Bubbs, and other groups like The Sun Spots, The 92s, Bum Jukebox, and Vulgar Commons.

I’ve also played about 100 live shows over the last 15 years, including performances for Taste of Chicago, Hard Rock Cafe, & SoFar Sounds.

My goal for 2026 is to release a music production course that enables anyone to craft their own songs and work with me to bring their sonic ideas to life in a fun, inspiring way. As evidenced by my UIUC degree in Elementary Education, I’ve always been passionate about teaching and sharing my skills with others.
